
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE OBTAINING OF BUILDING PERMITS AND COUNCIL APPROVAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND/OR ALTERATION OF DRIVEWAYS TO RESIDENCES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.:
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 1182, a Building Supervisor appointed by the Mayor of the City of Eastborough has full supervision and control over the matter of the issuance of permits for the construction and/or alteration of residences and other structures in the City of Eastborough.
It is unlawful for any person to change the ingress and egress (hereinafter “driveway”) to a residence in the City of Eastborough without first obtaining a permit from the Building Supervisor. Any person contemplating changing the ingress and egress to a residence in the City of Eastborough shall submit an application and the construction documents to the Building Supervisor and deposit the fee hereinafter provided at least thirty (30) days before planned construction. Said Building Supervisor will examine such construction documents and ascertain whether they meet the requirements of all ordinances of the City of Eastborough. Upon the payments of the fee hereinafter provided, the Building Supervisor shall submit the application and construction documents to the City Council with a recommendation at which time the City Council will approve or deny said application.
At the time said construction documents are submitted to the Building Supervisor, applicant shall pay the City Clerk a document review and administrative fee in the amount of $300.
Any person who shall begin construction for which a permit is required without first having obtained a permit from the Building Supervisor shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and be fined not less than $100 or more than $1,000 and/or shall be subject to being enjoined from completion thereof.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the official city paper of the City of Eastborough according to law.
