Mayor announced the order of business:
Terry Hacker asked the Council to reconsider their decision to award the contract to Cornejo for the Westside Street Project and award the contract to Kansas Paving the lowest bidder. Mr. Hacker made reference to the following documents faxed to Jerry Bogle, City Attorney, on March 3, 2011:
Doug Dagg, Cornejo, told the Council that Cornejo would like the contract, but would honor Council's decision.
Anderson moved to go into executive session for 25 minutes; Mastio seconded; passed unanimously and extended to 40 minutes.
After further consideration Anderson moved to accept Larry Henry's recommendation to award the contract to the lowest bidder, Kansas Paving; Brown seconded; Anderson, Brown, Fleeman and Johnson moved to approve; Mastio abstained (due to a conflict of interest).
Henry will now be asked to finalize the contract with Kansas Paving
